Fire destroys Daniel's Auto Glass in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY – An early morning fire at Daniel's Auto Glass in Franklin County completely destroyed the business. Firefighters from seven departments responded to the fire on Fork Mountain Road around 4:18 AM Monday morning.

When firefighters arrived, they found the building fully involved. According to Chief John Stanley of the Fork Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, the fire was under control in 45 minutes. Crews remained on scene to put out numerous hot spots.

Daniel's Auto Glass owner said glass work, tools and equipment in the shop were all a total loss.

"I’d greatly appreciate any and all prayers at this time. I’ve gotta process all of this and figure out my next step," he said Monday morning.

No one was inside the building during the fire and no injuries were reported.

Daniel's Auto Glass has served the region for nearly 20 years.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is expected to be turned over to Virginia State Police, according to Stanley.
