The crash occurred at 8 AM on Jubal Early Highway (Route 116), about a mile west of Boones Mill Road (Route 684) in Franklin County.

State police say a 2012 Ford Escape traveling west ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a rock, then returned to the roadway and struck the guardrail.
