
BASSETT, VA – A man was flown to a hospital with burns following a vehicle fire in Bassett.
The fire broke out at around 2 p.m. Wednesday as the vehicle was parked at a home on Healms Road.
The victim suffered burns after the vehicle caught fire and later exploded, according to the Martinsville-Henry County 9-1-1 Center.
The extent of those burn injuries is unknown at this time.
He was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter after a landing zone was set up at Fairway Baptist Church.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
