Truck & Camper Up In Flames on 57 W



 

HENRY COUNTY, VA


(MAY 23, 2024)- A dramatic scene unfolded today near the 9220 block of 57 W. Fairstone Park Highway as a truck and camper burst into flames, causing traffic reroutes and significant disruption. The incident occurred near the old Scots Antique Classic Sales establishment.



According to reports, a Chevrolet pickup truck or Ford rear-ended a semi-truck, leading to the ignition of the fire. The truck and the camper it was towing were engulfed in flames, resulting in their destruction.



Bassett Fire and Rescue, along with state police, swiftly responded to the emergency, working diligently to extinguish the fire and manage the situation. As a result of the incident, roadways in the vicinity were blocked off for over two hours, causing inconvenience to commuters.



Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The exact cause of the collision and subsequent fire remains under investigation by authorities.
