Franklin County sheriff’s deputy recognized for helping save person’s life

FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office presented Deputy Brad Elkins the Shining Star Award.

The sheriff’s office says Deputy Elkins was dispatched to a call several weeks ago where he discovered a resident with life-threatening issues.
 

Elkins administered first aid care until local emergency medical services arrived, according to the sheriff’s office.

The resident was transported to the hospital and lived.

“Thank you Deputy Elkins for being observant and helpful,” the sheriff’s office stated.
