MARTINSVILLE, VA
Sounds on the Square, in collaboration with the American Red Cross, is organizing a Blood Drive on Monday, June 24, 2024.
The event will take place from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Lecture Hall C, New College Institute, located at 191 Fayette Street in Uptown Martinsville.
This initiative aims to support critical medical needs in the community while offering donors a chance to contribute to a worthy cause.
As a token of appreciation, each donor will receive a $15 e-gift card along with a complimentary drink redeemable at a Sounds on the Square event.
First-time donors and those reaching significant milestones are especially encouraged to participate.
Appointments can be scheduled online at the provided link or by reaching out to John Phillips, President of the Historical Society, at 276-806-5022.
Sounds on the Square, known as Uptown Martinsville's premier music concert series, hosts free events on the Plaza of the Historic Henry County Courthouse every first Friday of the month, from May through October.
The series is proudly coordinated by the Martinsville-Henry County Historical Society and sponsored by several local businesses, including Carter Bank & Trust, Children First Pediatrics, Deskins, Inc., The Estate & Elder Law Center of Southside Virginia, Hooker Furnishings, The Lester Group, New College Institute, and Sarver Cleaning Services.
Every donation can make a significant impact, as blood donors assist patients of all ages, including accident and burn victims, individuals undergoing heart surgery or organ transplants, and those fighting cancer.
With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, and 4.5 million lives saved each year through transfusions, your contribution can truly save lives.
Join us in this noble endeavor and make a difference in your community.
