19-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Involving Pickup Truck in Radford

RADFORD, Va. (BTW21) — A 19-year-old motorcyclist died after a collision with a pickup truck pulling a utility trailer on Friday, authorities confirmed.
Around 3:15 p.m., officers from the Radford City Police Department responded to a report of a motorcycle accident at the intersection of East Main Street and High Meadows Parkway.
Investigators say that Michael Price, 19, was riding a 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on East Main Street when a 2021 Ram pickup truck, towing a small utility trailer, was traveling eastbound.
According to officials, the truck attempted to make a left turn onto High Meadows Parkway when the motorcycle collided with the trailer.
The impact threw Price from his bike.
Radford Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and provided immediate first aid before transporting Price to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.
Despite efforts to save him, Price was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Radford City Police Department, with the help of the New River Valley Regional Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team, is actively investigating the incident.
Authorities have not released further details at this time.
