The start of the 2019 Hurricane season begins Saturday, June 1, 2019 and will run through Saturday, November 30, 2019.
According to Colorado State University, North Carolina State University, and NOAA (National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration), a near average season is forecasted.
As ocean water are warming up off the coast of Peru, South America, which creates more storm systems in the southern United States, an El Nino is likely to set up. Not only the ocean waters in the Pacific are warming, but the Atlantic Ocean is too.
Forecasters cannot say when or where they will form, but always be prepared when the time comes.
BTW21's Weatherman Dustin Staples will keep us updated as the storms develop this season.
