FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – Virginia State Police said a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 21-year-old man in Franklin County.
The crash occurred Saturday at approximately 7 p.m. on Mount Carmel Road, one tenth of a mile south of Gumtree Lane.
According to state police, a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer was going north on Mount Carmel Road when the SUV ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, crossed the road and hit some trees.
The driver, Devin Wayne Coleman, of Bassett, was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
