It happened on Saturday at around 6:54 p.m. on Old Franklin Turnpike at the intersection of Redwood Road.
A 2004 Yamaha motorcycle was headed east on Old Franklin Turnpike at a high rate of speed, when the motorcycle struck a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, according to state police.
Authorities said the Chevrolet was making a left turn onto Old Franklin Turnpike from Redwood Road.
James Dean Frith, 22, of Union Hall, drove the Yamaha, was wearing his helmet and died at the scene, police said.
The Chevrolet driver was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.
This crash remains under investigation.
This is not right, the truck pulled out into the road & hit the motorcycle. The motorcycle has the right of way, on the straight away of road, I don’t believe the truck even looked before he turned.
