PATRICK COUNTY, VA – 42 residents and 13 employees of Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Patrick County tested positive for the coronavirus, officials confirmed in a press release on Wednesday.
Blue Ridge Therapy Connection said facility-wide testing by the National Guard was conducted on July 20.
“Since that time, we have observed other residents with symptoms. The test results show that 13 staff members tested positive. 42 residents likewise tested positive,” the release reads.
The long-term care facility said many who tested positive for the virus showed, and continue to show no symptoms.
One resident has been moved to the recovered list and two more are expected to join that list, according to officials.
“Sadly, two COVID positive residents have passed. Federal law does not permit us to confirm cause of death,” the release states.
