CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. A 55-year-old man is dead following a three-vehicle crash that occurred last week in Campbell County, Virginia.
Virginia State Police (VSP) responded to the scene of the crash on February 5, just after 5 p.m., on Brookneal Highway.
According to VSP, a 2008 Ford SRW Super Duty truck was attempting to make a left turn into a driveway when it was struck from behind by a 2019 Nissan Frontier.
The impact caused the Nissan to cross the centerline and collide with a 2012 Dodge Ram 4500.
The driver of the Nissan Frontier, identified as 55-year-old William Shelley, was taken to the hospital after the crash.
Unfortunately, Shelley later died from his injuries. Police confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Neither of the other two drivers involved in the crash, driving the Ford and the Dodge, sustained any injuries.
Virginia State Police is continuing to investigate the crash, and no further details have been released at this time.
VSP has emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing.
