CRAIG COUNTY, Va. A 59-year-old woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in Craig County on Friday, February 9, 2025, according to Virginia State Police .
The crash occurred around 10:45 a.m. on Route 311, approximately 2.8 miles north of Route 658.
VSP reported that a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling south on Route 311 when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The Chevrolet ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, and overturned.
The passenger, Deniece Hubbard, 59, of Covington, was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Unfortunately, she died at the scene from her injuries. The 64-year-old male driver, also wearing his seatbelt, sustained injuries in the crash and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities reported that his injuries were non-life-threatening.
VSP has not yet released the identity of the driver, and charges are pending as the investigation continues.
