$5K reward offered in local gun shop burglary




PATRICK COUNTY, VA – Two men are being sought for a gun shop burglary in Patrick County that happened on September 22.


At approximately 3:15 a.m., two men forced entry into the Rabbit Ridge Gun Shop, located at 1251 Rabbit Ridge Road in Ararat, where multiple firearms were stolen.


The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering up to $2,500 and the National Shooting Sports Foundation is offering up another $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the men responsible for the burglary.

“ATF will collaborate with our partners by offering our investigative and analytical resources to ensure that the stolen firearms are recovered,” ATF Washington Field Division acting Special Agent in Charge Christopher Amon said. “ATF’s Crime Gun Intelligence Center will extend the resources needed to apprehend the individuals responsible for this criminal act. We call upon community members to provide any information that will assist us in locating and holding all involved accountable for this crime before they are used in a crime of violence.”
