RIDGEWAY, VA – The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Henry County reminds at eight as results from the Martinsville Speedway testing site came back negative.
Nancy Bell, Population Health Manager of the Virginia Department of Health West Piedmont District said all 25 tests from last week came back within 24 to 48 hours and were all negative.
As of Tuesday, there were approximately 175 tests available, according to Bell.
The Harvest Foundation has provided $300,000 in funding, which will supply more tests as needed.
Testing is free, but is only open to residents of the city of Martinsville and Henry County and Patrick counties who have a referral from a physician.
If you suspect you have the virus, you should contact your physician to discuss whether you should be tested.
If the doctor feels a test is needed, they will send certain documentation to the site.
The testing site is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. but could change depending on demand.
It was closed on Monday due to severe weather.
