After months of investigation, the Danville Police Department has made an arrest in the July 19, 2024 shooting incident that left three individuals injured.

Antroy Sameal Knowles, 25, was arrested on Friday, December 20, 2024, in North Carolina, where he is being held at the Rockingham County Jail pending extradition.

Knowles has been charged with multiple offenses, including three counts of malicious wounding, three counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, three counts of reckless handling of a firearm that caused serious bodily injury, five counts of discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling, and one count of malicious damage.

The shooting occurred on July 19, 2024, at approximately 9:56 p.m., when Danville police responded to reports of shots fired at a residence in the 1500 block of Halifax Road. Upon arrival, officers found a 40-year-old man from Ringgold who had been shot in the leg. In addition, a 19-year-old male and a 20-year-old female, both from Danville, arrived at SOVAH Danville emergency room with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds from the same incident.

Further investigation revealed that a private party, attended by several individuals and security officers, was taking place at the residence.

The 40-year-old victim was a security officer at the event, while the other two victims were attendees.

Authorities believe the shots were fired from a vehicle near the home, leading to the injuries sustained by the victims.

Danville Police Chief expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the Eden Police Department in assisting with Knowles' capture. The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information or video footage from the time of the incident to come forward.
