Authorities investigating after student threaten violence at high school

PATRICK COUNTY, VA – Deputies are investigating threats of violence made by a student at Patrick County High School.

The Patrick County Sheriff’s Office says it is working together on the case with Patrick County Public Schools.

The student in question is not presently attending school, according to Sheriff Dan Smith.

The sheriff said that measures have been taken to maintain continued safety for all students and faculty.
