BASSETT, VA – Authorities say someone set fire to a home in Bassett on Tuesday night.
Henry County Fire Marshal Lisa Garrett told BTW21 News on Wednesday that the fire has been ruled an arson in the ongoing investigation.
Volunteer fire departments from Bassett and Collinsville were dispatched to the fire at a home on Quartz Street off of Sunset Drive around 8 p.m.
The blaze damaged the home, but a quick respond from firefighters helped save it from being a total loss.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The American Red Cross was called for one adult.
The Henry County Department of Public Safety, Henry County Sheriff's Office, Virginia State Police and Appalachian Power also responded.

The Crimestoppers program offers rewards of up to $2,500 for information related to crime. The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount of reward paid.
