BASSETT – Virginia State Police Trooper W. L. Ferguson is investigating a motor vehicle crash which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Sunday, August 12 at 9:58 AM on Oak Level Road, two tenths of a mile north of Philpott Drive in Henry County.
A 1999 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling south on Oak Level Road, when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, struck tree and a utility pole.
The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as Michael Todd Withrow, 44, of Bassett. Withrow was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
