The 32nd Annual Big Bird Toy Ride, held on November 9, was once again a tremendous success, bringing together our community in support of local Christmas Cheer.
Bikers from across the region gathered at Thunder Road Harley-Davidson in Danville, Virginia, where ticket sales and registration continued until 1:00 PM.
With kickstands up, the 32nd toy ride was led by state police motorcyclists and the Martinsville City cyclists, creating a powerful display of unity and purpose.
The scenic ride took participants along the bypass to the Ridgeway exit, where they turned onto the original Big Bird route.
Riders passed the speedway, traveled through the heart of Martinsville, and continued along Commonwealth Boulevard.
They then journeyed through Bassett, up Kohler Avenue, before arriving at Sportlanes for the ride’s culmination.
Over 125 riders joined the event, and around 175 people gathered at Sportlanes to enjoy a well-deserved meal, generously provided by our dedicated sponsors, Bojangles, Jerry’s Pizza, and Papa’s Pizza.
A special thanks go to all sponsors, including Rust & Chrome Restoration 1, Papa’s Pizza, Daniel’s Auto Glass, Thunder Road Harley-Davidson, Bassett Funeral Home, and BTW21, whose support made the event possible.
Attendees enjoyed a 50/50 raffle and multiple auction giveaways, all contributing to an impressive total of $11,388 raised for local Christmas Cheer.
The excitement and spirit of giving filled the air, setting the tone for a joyous holiday season.
On behalf of all involved, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the riders, sponsors, and community members who helped make this year’s ride such a success.
We eagerly anticipate next year’s event, which promises to be even bigger and better, ensuring that no child goes without this holiday season.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support. We look forward to riding together again soon!
