MARTINSVILLE, Va. (BTW21)Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body found Tuesday morning on Lee’s Ridge Road in Martinsville, which appears to be the result of a homicide.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reported that the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center received a call at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, reporting the discovery of a body on the 500 block of Lee’s Ridge Road.
Deputies and Henry County EMSÂ responded to the scene and found the deceased person lying on the shoulder of the roadway.
Preliminary observations indicated that the victim had suffered what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim's identity has not yet been confirmed, and authorities are working to determine the cause of death. The Chief Medical Examiner in Roanoke will conduct further investigation to identify the victim and determine the exact cause of death.
