MARTINSVILLE, VA ( BTW21) – A significant break in the case of a 2024 shooting at Tequila’s Sports Bar and Grill has led to the arrest of 24-year-old Jalen Davon Pritchett.
Pritchett was taken into custody on March 6, 2025 in Greensboro, North Carolina by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Pritchett had been a fugitive since the May 2024 incident, which saw an individual injured in a shooting outside the popular Martinsville sports bar.
The arrest stems from an investigation into a violent confrontation that occurred on the night of May 17, 2024, around 11:45 pm, when police responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Tequila’s Sports Bar.
Officers discovered that a 20-year-old Martinsville man had been transported to SOVAH Health Martinsville with a gunshot wound to his leg. Fortunately, the victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.
Following the shooting, officers gathered critical evidence, conducted interviews with witnesses, and analyzed surveillance footage, which led to the identification of two suspects.
Rosario Nasiar Eggleston, also 24 and from Martinsville, was arrested in connection with the crime and charged with multiple offenses, including malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon.
Pritchett, the second suspect, was wanted for malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, willfully discharging a firearm in a public place, and several other charges, including possession of a firearm under a protective order and destruction of property.
The arrest of Pritchett marks a major milestone in the ongoing investigation, and he is currently being held in North Carolina without bond, pending extradition to Martinsville.
