A school bus driver has been charged following a crash that left twelve people hospitalized, according to Virginia State Police.
Authorities report that officers responded to a crash involving two school buses at the intersection of Bee Drive and Enterprise Drive at 3:52 p.m. on the day of the incident.
Police state that one bus driver was attempting to turn left onto southbound Enterprise Drive from Bee Drive when they struck a second school bus traveling north on Enterprise Drive.
Officials clarify that Bee Drive has a stop sign, whereas Enterprise Drive does not.
The driver of the striking bus, identified as Tracy L. Taylor, 62, has been charged with failing to yield the right of way.
As a result of the crash, ten children and two adults sustained minor injuries and were transported to Lynchburg General Hospital for medical evaluation.
The incident remains under investigation.
