MARTINSVILLE, VA – Tuesday night, family and friends came together for a candlelight vigil to remember one of the victims of the Martinsville restaurant shootout.
Police say Ke'ilo Anton Martin, 23, and Shavon Lamont Reid, 33, both of Martinsville, were shot and killed following an argument at the bar area of El Norteño Mexican Restaurant.
Two men have since been arrested and two other men are still being treated for gunshot wounds.
"His life just ended too short," Martin's mother Sherricka Hughes said.
"He didn't deserve it. He didn't. That's why so many people are just crushed by it, because they know what kind of person he was," his sister China Martin said.
Martin's family says he was just trying to diffuse the problem before being killed.
As the family grieves, they have a message for the community.
The candlelight vigil showcased the outpouring of love that the family has received during this difficult time.
