HENRY COUNTY, VA – Carlisle School has appointed Neal Meyer as the interim Head of School effective July 1.
Meyer is a certified elementary teacher and currently serves as the Lower School Director.
She has 29 years of experience in education as a teacher and administrator, the last 20 of which have been spent at Carlisle School.
“Carlisle School has allowed me to fulfill my dream of leading a team of the region's most dedicated and skillful educators. The extraordinary children, parents, and faculty of the Carlisle community are a privilege for me to serve. I appreciate the confidence of the Board, and I am committed to continuing the tradition of excellence in education,” she stated.
Meyer graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology; she has completed graduate work in education through Averett University.
She also has experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program and is certified in the Orton Gillingham structured literacy approach.
Under her leadership, Meyer established and oversaw every facet of a satellite campus from the ground up as well as its successful merge to the main campus, according to Carlisle.
