
BASSETT, VA – A Bassett man has been charged after a search warrant was conducted at his home on Thursday.
The search of the home in the 6600 block of Stones Dairy Road by the Henry County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team and investigators found:
Multiple ounces of suspected cocaine
160 scheduled II prescription pills
An illegal firearm
Four vehicles
Two pieces of heavy equipment
An undisclosed amount of money were seized
The suspect, Douglas Eugene Martin, 69, was found at the front door, where he was arrested without incident.
Martin was charged with the following:
Possession with the intent to distribute, 3rd offense
Possession of a firearm while in possession of a scheduled I/II substance
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
He was taken to the Henry County Adult Detention Center and is being held with no bond.
