BASSETT, VA – Residents of the City of Martinsville and Henry County, mark your calendars for the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Day.
The event is dedicated to the safe disposal of household hazardous materials and is entirely free for all residents, with the exception of commercial businesses.
The event will happen rain or shine on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bassett Service Center, located at 2285 Fairystone Park Highway.
Household hazardous waste poses significant risks to both health and the environment if not disposed of properly.
Take advantage of this opportunity to rid your home of potentially harmful substances while keeping our community safe and clean.
Items to bring:
Solvents (mineral spirits, paint thinner, turpentine, acetone, etc.)
Paints (oil-based, polyurethane, tung oil, deck or oil-based stains, etc.)
Fuels (gasoline, number 2 fuel, kerosene, diesel fuel, small engine fuel, etc.)
Automobile Fluids (motor oil, transmission fluids, antifreeze, etc.)
Lead-acid batteries, computer equipment, cell phones, ink cartridges, paper (8.5 × 11, 4 boxes max)
