PATRICK COUNTY, VA – On Thursday, three Patrick County fire departments responded to a structure fire on Golf Course Road.
Volunteer fire departments from Moorefield Store, Patrick Springs and Stuart were toned out at around 8 p.m. after a neighbor called 9-1-1.
Firefighters arrived on scene and say they found a doublewide with fire through the roof.
During a search, crews located a dead dog, according to Clint Weidhaas, Patrick Springs Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief.
Weidhaas said one female suffered from smoke inhalation and she went to the hospital later.
All other occupants made it out of the home that ended up bring a total loss.
It took firefighters about 3 hours and about 8,000 gallons of water to completely extinguish the blaze.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.
