Dog saved from Henry County house fire




HENRY COUNTY, VA – A Henry County home was damaged by an early morning fire.


At approximately 6:01 a.m. on Tuesday morning, firefighters were called to a structure fire at 125 Southland Drive.


Firefighters say they found flames showing upon arrival.

A small dog was located inside and the SPCA was called to the scene to hold on to the pet until the owner could be contacted.

Henry County Fire Marshall Lisa Garrett told BTW21 News no one was home at the time of the fire.

Volunteer fire departments from Ridgeway and Horsepasture and Henry County Department of Public Safety responded.


Garrett said there were no injuries.


The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
