HENRY COUNTY, VA – 17-year-old Emily Vaught of Bassett is your new Miss Henry County.
The Miss Henry County Fair Pageant was held Saturday at the Henry County Recreation Center.
Vaught says Miss Henry County Fair 2021 MaKayla Sprouse, who served as the emcee, encouraged her to join the competition.
A total of 35 girls participated in nine different categories in this second annual pageant.
The winner of the “Miss Category”, which is for ages 17 to 22, serves as the official representative of the fair and was awarded a $500 scholarship.
For her platform, Vaught collected nonperishable food items for local organizations.
She will compete in The Miss Virginia Association of Fairs Pageant in January 2023 in Williamsburg.
The fair will be held September 21-24 at Martinsville Speedway, and will lead into the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 race on September 24.
