HENRY COUNTY, VA – Henry County small business owner Eric Phillips announced his candidacy Tuesday in the special election to replace outgoing Delegate Les Adams.
Phillips has already been endorsed by Virginia Senator Bill Stanley, Delegate Danny Marshall, and Delegate Wren Williams, according to a news release.
“I am excited for this opportunity to represent Southside and Southwest Virginia,” He said in the release. “Now more than ever, our community needs a fighter who will stand up for our rural values and promote the economic development renaissance that is gaining momentum in our District.”
Phillips serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Blue Ridge, the Martinsville-Henry Chamber of Commerce, and the Uptown Partnership.
He is the Chairman of the Martinsville Industrial Development Authority, the Chair of the Henry County-Martinsville Republican Committee and serves on the Republican Party of Virginia’s governing board, the State Central Committee.
“As Delegate, I will fight to bring needed infrastructure investment with projects like the Blue Ridge Innovation Corridor, to protect our students and defend parental rights, and work to create jobs, cut taxes and regulations, and ease the burden on hardworking Virginians. I will bring a new voice to Richmond that will stand up to the political establishment,” Phillips added.
