Patricia Wiggington, 49, the ex-wife of Fred Wiggington, was arrested on Sunday and charged with being an accessory after the fact to a felony homicide and obstruction of justice in connection to the murder of Elsie Wiggington.
According to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, Patricia Wiggington is being held at the Amherst County Adult Detention Center without bond.
The charges stem from the ongoing investigation into the death of Elsie Wiggington, whose remains were discovered in August 2024. The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office stated that Fred Wiggington, Patricia’s former husband, has already been charged with first-degree murder and concealment of a dead body.
