A crash on January 15 resulted in the death of a woman and left two others injured in Rocky Mount.
Emergency crews responded to the scene in the 600 block of North Main Street, near the intersection of Woodlawn Drive, at approximately 8:23 p.m.
Investigators determined that a 2002 Ford Focus, traveling north, crossed into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The driver of the Ford, Brittany Chyann Widener, 35, of Wirtz, was transported to Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver and front-seat passenger of the Chevrolet were also taken to the hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. More details will be released as the investigation progresses.
