ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC – A 35-year-old woman is in custody following a fatal fire in Reidsville.
On Tuesday morning, multiple Rockingham County fire departments rushed to the 100 block of Kinknicar Road to tackle a fire at a residence.
Once the flames were put out, authorities say they discovered a deceased person among the rubble.
The Rockingham County Fire Investigation Task Force, which includes the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office, was activated to determine what caused the blaze.
Following an investigation by this task force, Natasha Marie Wren, of Reidsville, was charged with first-degree arson and first-degree murder.
Wren was arrested and is currently held in the Rockingham County Detention Facility without bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
