BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (BTW21) March 21, 2025 – Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday evening, March 20, 2025, in Botetourt County.
At approximately 9:59 p.m., a 2024 Dodge Ram 2500 was traveling north on Route 11, near the intersection with Arch Mill Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.
The driver, Allen Leach II, a 55-year-old resident of Hampton, Va., was identified as the sole occupant of the vehicle.
According to authorities, Mr. Leach was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Virginia State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
The Virginia State Police encourages anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has additional information to come forward to assist in the investigation
