FIELDALE, VA – An online fundraiser has been set up to support a family that was affected by a house fire in Fieldale.

Firefighters responded to the structure fire in the 100 block of Tilley Drive on Thursday at around 3 p.m.

Henry County Fire Marshal Lisa Garrett said the fire appeared to have been accidental in cause.

According the the family, the cause was electrical due to the heavy flooding and storms of that day.

Volunteer fire departments from Fieldale, Horsepasture and Patrick Henry, Henry County Department of Public Safety, Fieldale-Collinsville Rescue Squad, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the American Red Cross and Appalachian Power responded.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The fundraiser, created by Anglers Choice, the father's employer, says that there was extensive damage and the family is unable to inhabit the dwelling for a few months.

They say all of their appliances, furniture and personal belongings were either destroyed or severely damaged.

“Randy has been with the company for 20 years and Angler's Choice would like to help the family in any way we can. We are asking those that know Randy, Mary, Sommer and Troy to also help by making a donation to aid in their time of need,” Anglers Choice said.
