Garfield’s in Fieldale closes after 72 years

FIELDALE – Garfield’s Place is now closed after the passing of its owner, Pat Olivia Arnold. Pat Arnold of Fieldale was 86 when she passed away September 17.

A source close to the family confirmed that they will not reopen. The source also said that Garfield’s sold all remaining food and equipment to Fieldale Cafe.

Garfield’s Place was located at 2670 Appalachian Drive in the Fieldale community. The restaurant which served southern comfort food was family owned since 1946.
