MARTINSVILLE, VA – Last week, a Martinsville grand jury issued 285 indictments.
Indictments are not an indication of guilt. It is a grand jury’s determination that enough evidence exists to hold a trial.
The 96 indictments on 52 people that were initially made public are as follows:
22-year-old Katelyn Brook Altizer, of Penhook, was indicted for possession of schedule I or II drug on January 10, 2019.
38-year-old Demarlo Alesander Banks, of Martinsville, was indicted for felony elude, disregard police on September 25.
49-year-old Kristel Lynn Bashar, of Martinsville, was indicted for third offense shoplifting, grand larceny of a motor vehicle on April 15.
20-year-old Tyrik Javon Blackwell, of Martinsville, was indicted for felony fail to appear on December 12.
70-year-old Warren Garvice Boyd Jr., of Martinsville, was indicted for four counts of third offense obtaining money by false pretense June 4-6, 2018, third offense shoplifting on October 16, 2018.
29-year-old Tevin Monte Burgess, of Martinsville, was indicted for robbery, assault and battery on October 29.
43-year-old Calvin Edward Cabiness, of Martinsville, was indicted for malicious wounding on April 3.
27-year-old Derrick Desmond Cales, of Martinsville, was indicted for embezzlement on June 1.
39-year-old Kelly Nicole Carter, of Martinsville, was indicted for two counts of possessing schedule I or II drug on January 12, 2018.
43-year-old Tracy Sutphin Cobbler, of Fieldale, was indicted for possessing schedule I or II drug, on February 16, 2019.
49-year-old Tyrone Angelo Cox, of Martinsville, was indicted for malicious wounding, grand larceny, enter house to commit assault and battery on October 11.
31-year-old Ella Irene Davis, of Martinsville, was indicted for aggravated malicious wounding, conspiracy to maliciously shoot, stab, cut or wound on August 28.
54-year-old Frederick Leon Davis, of Martinsville, was indicted for third offense shoplifting on October 5.
49-year-old Gary Thomas Davis, of Martinsville, was indicted for fail to appear on November 12.

51-year-old Joseph Lee Dillon Jr., of Collinsville, was indicted for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, August 1.
20-year-old Rayquan Eugene Douglas, of Martinsville, was indicted for four counts of abduction, grand larceny, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, statutory burglary with a deadly weapon at night on July 8.
42-year-old Joseph Andrew Eggleston, of Martinsville, was indicted for third or subsequent offense of petty larceny on October 6.
42-year-old Cynthia Fulcher Epperly, of Patrick Springs, was indicted for possessing schedule I or II drug on April 29.

26-year-old Xavier Antonio Gilbert, of Bassett, was indicted for four counts of abduction, grand larceny robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, statutory burglary with a deadly weapon at night, possessing, transporting or concealing a firearm by a violent convicted felon on July 8.
30-year-old Cristoming Antwantin Hairston, of Martinsville, was indicted for maliciously shoot at an occupied vehicle, aggravated malicious wounding, conspiracy to maliciously shoot, stab, cut or wound, use of a firearm in the commission of a violent felony, possess, transport a firearm by a violent convicted felon, possess or transport ammo by a convicted felon, discharge a firearm in a public place causing injury on August 28.
29-year-old Keyasha Hairston, of Martinsville, was indicted for third or subsequent offense within 10 years of driving under the influence on October 29.
42-year-old Michael Wayne Hairston, of Martinsville, was indicted for selling more than 1/2 ounce but less than 5 pounds of marijuana on February 27.
31-year-old Melissa Dawn Hall, of Martinsville, was indicted for two counts of possessing schedule I or II drug on March 5.
55-year-old Derwin Kendall Hannah, 55, of Martinsville, was indicted for third offense shoplifting on August 8.

34-year-old Amanda Cannaday Wirt, of Bassett, was indicted for possession of heroin on April 11.
