COLLINSVILLE, VA – Henry County Public Schools is looking for bus drivers and aides as the shortage persists even after pay raises.
Director of Communications Monica Hatchett says they started the school year with a deficit.
Part-time and full-time drivers have received raises each of the past several years, according to Assistant Superintendent for Operations and Administrative Services David Scott.
Scott says there has also been a 5% pay increase for the current school year.
A commercial driver's license is required to operate buses and the school district will pay for the training.
They are looking to hire up to 15 part-time drivers and up to 5 full-time drivers.
