The Henry County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a series of vehicle larcenies that have occurred across the community.
Suspects have been targeting both locked and unlocked vehicles, particularly those with valuables visible from the outside.
These thefts have been reported in various locations throughout the county, with one of the most recent incidents occurring in the Ridgeway area.
A photograph of a suspect involved in one of these thefts has been released by authorities in hopes of gathering further information from the public.
Sheriff’s Office officials are urging residents to stay vigilant and take extra precautions to protect their vehicles and belongings. The following safety tips are recommended
LOCK your vehicle doors – Even when parked in your driveway!
REMOVEÂ valuables from plain sight.
REPORTÂ any suspicious activity immediately to local authorities.
A locked vehicle with no valuables in view is the best deterrent against theft. Criminals are often on the lookout for easy opportunities don’t give them one.
Residents are encouraged to stay aware of their surroundings and keep an eye out for their neighbors.
Anyone with information regarding the recent larcenies is urged to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 276-638-8751 or call Crimestoppers at 63-CRIME (632-7463).
The Crimestoppers Program offers rewards of up to $2,500Â for information leading to the resolution of a crime.
The amount of the reward is based on the nature of the crime and the details provided.
Authorities continue to investigate the ongoing string of thefts and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.
