HENRY COUNTY, VA – The Virginia High School League has delayed the start of high school spring sports for two weeks due to coronavirus worries.
March 30 is set to be the new date when local sports are to resume.
Several major events including the cancellation of the NCAA tournament and proceeding spring sports has triggered this response to protect our local student athletes and their competitors.
Martinsville City Public Schools was the first to indefinitely postpone their spring sports season.
Patrick Henry Community College has also postponed their athletic programs until at least April 5 affecting games scheduled for the coming weekend.
Changes amid coronavirus concerns are being evaluated daily.
