On Sunday, December 1, 2024, human skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area along the 7900 block of U.S. Hwy 158 West in Reidsville.
The remains were found by an individual walking their property lines, prompting an immediate response from the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office and the Medical Examiner.
At this time, the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed, and it is unknown whether foul play was involved.
The remains have been sent for forensic testing to help determine the cause of death and the time frame of the individual's death.
