Light Christian Counseling Services opens in Collinsville

COLLINSVILLE, VA – A new Christian counseling practice celebrated its grand opening in Collinsville.

Light Christian Counseling Services, a Christian counseling practice helping individuals, couples and families utilizing temperament theory, is located at 3030 Virginia Avenue.

“It's a wonderful day for me. This is a calling that I've had since 2012 and I'm just really excited to be having my feet planted here in the community and getting started on it.”

While the office is located inside of the Stone Memorial Christian Church, owner Kristina Adams says it's a separate and private business.

“In talking with Tim [Stone Memorial Pastor] and visiting here in the church and then becoming a member, doors just opened up,” she said.

Adams is a licensed pastoral counselor and certified temperament counselor who has been practicing since 2019.

“I see everything ranging from people with addictions, to anxiety, to depression, to parent-child conflict and marital issues. I look at conflicts that a person is having with themselves or with other people,” Adams stated.

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, she says seeking help is crucial.

“I would say critical. Mental health issues have risen tremendously over the last 12 months,” Adams added.

The office is open Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For more information, call the practice at 276-340-1139 or visit the website at www.lightchristiancounselingservices.com.
