Lynchburg Man Dead After Fatal Motorcycle Crash on U.S. 501

A man is dead following a fatal motorcycle crash Sunday evening, February 2, according to Lynchburg Police.


Lynchburg Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash at 5:21 p.m. in the southbound lanes of U.S. 501, just before the Wards Road exit.


Upon arrival, authorities discovered that the motorcyclist had suffered fatal injuries. He was the only person on the motorcycle at the time of the crash.


The victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead from his injuries at the scene.


Lynchburg Police are actively investigating the cause of the crash.
