Police identify man who died after being hit by car in Collinsville

COLLINSVILLE, VA – Virginia State Police have identified the 85-year-old man who was killed when a car hit him.

The incident occurred Saturday around 8:53 p.m. in front of the Dutch Inn on Virginia Avenue in Collinsville.

A 2012 Dodge Charger was going north on Virginia Avenue, when it struck a man crossing Virginia Avenue from the left side of the road, according to state police.

The victim was identified as Vincent Nicholas Sciarabba, of Warrenton, NC.  

Sciarabba died at the scene.

Police said the driver remained at the scene during the crash investigation.

The crash is still under investigation.
