Man Arrested After Bomb Threat at Henry County Dollar General

A bomb threat at the Dollar General located at 2662 Greensboro Road in Henry County led to the arrest of 52-year-old Roger Amos Jr. on Sunday, February 9, 2025.


Authorities responded to the threat at approximately 8:00 PM, initiating a thorough investigation to ensure public safety.


After law enforcement secured the area, a search of the premises was conducted using an explosive K-9 unit. Fortunately, no explosive devices were found, and the situation was quickly deemed safe.


The store has since resumed normal operations.


Amos was apprehended without incident at a nearby location, 2034 Rives Road, and is now facing charges related to the false threat.


He has been charged under Virginia Code Section 18.2-83 – Threats to Bomb and is currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center on a $4,500 secured bond.


This bomb threat follows a similar incident that occurred just days earlier, on Friday, February 7, 2025, at approximately 7:30 PM, at the same Dollar General.


The Henry County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this earlier threat and is urging anyone with additional information to come forward.


Sheriff’s Office officials emphasized their commitment to ensuring public safety and taking all threats seriously.
