
A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a gas station in Halifax County earlier this month.
Kimari Justin Lacks of Halifax was taken into custody on Sunday, January 12, following an investigation into the robbery that occurred on Thursday, January 9, at a Spirit convenience store in the area.
Lacks has been charged with multiple offenses related to the robbery, including:
Armed robbery
Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
Wearing a mask to conceal identity
Brandishing a firearm
Concealed weapon
According to law enforcement, the robbery took place when Lacks allegedly entered the Spirit convenience store, brandished a firearm, and demanded money.
Authorities said he was wearing a mask to conceal his identity at the time of the incident. Afterward, he fled the scene, and the store reported the crime to police.
Following an investigation and tips from the community, Lacks was arrested and taken into custody.
He is currently being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
Lacks is expected to appear in court at a later date to face the charges against him.
The investigation into the robbery is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with further information to come forward.
