HENRY COUNTY, VA – On Sunday, April 30, at around 9:53 pm, the Martinsville-Henry County Emergency 911 Center received a call that an individual had been stabbed at El Parral Restaurant, located at 670 Commonwealth Blvd.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they located the victim, Luis Cruz, 33, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Adrian Cruz, an employee of El Parrel, and another co-worker, Sipriano Bautista, 32, of Grand Lake Circle, Collinsville, got into a verbal argument in the kitchen area of the restaurant.
The two co-workers took the argument outside to the back of the business.
As the two men continued to argue, Adrian Cruz’s brother, Luis Cruz, came outside and joined in with the argument.
During the verbal altercation, Luis Cruz and Sipriano Bautista began physically fighting.
Bautista then produced a knife and stabbed Cruz in the chest area and right arm.
Luis Cruz was transported by rescue to SOVAH Health of Martinsville, where he received treatment for his injuries.
Bautista, who was still on the scene when deputies arrived, was taken into custody without further incident.
He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and is currently held in the Henry County Adult Detention Center with no bond.
