A man is dead, and another is in custody following a fatal shooting in Stoneville on January 31.
The Stoneville Police Department responded to a shots-fired call around 12:45 p.m. in the 300 block of South Henry Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 47-year-old Warran Joyce in the front yard, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite life-saving efforts, Joyce was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Miguel Angel Corona, was located at the residence and taken into custody without incident.
Authorities confirmed the shooting stemmed from an isolated altercation between Joyce and Corona.
Corona has been charged with second-degree murder and is currently being held at the Rockingham County Jail without bond.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
