COLLINSVILLE, VA – The identity of a Bassett man who died in a Monday morning crash has been released by Virginia State Police.
The crash occurred around 11:15 a.m. on Virginia Avenue near Seminole Drive in Collinsville.
A 2004 Toyota Camry was going south on Virginia Avenue when it changed lanes and lost control, according to State Police.
The Toyota crossed into the northbound lanes and was hit by a 2016 Chrysler Town & Country.
The driver of the Toyota, Joshua Brandon Vernon, 44, was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Chrysler, a 50-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries from the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
